Car Pool Log: 2006 07-12

Rode in with Edna this morning (see CPL: 2006 05-10, 18 ). The crushed box of Kleenex was still on the floor of the backseat, behind the Driver’s seat. A magazine was underneath the seat with two other magazines next to the seat by the door. Second Passenger appeared to be snoozing with his seat leaned back to a comfortable position. Listened to KQED. There were periodic beeps behind us to the point where I wondered if something was being dragged by the car a la the poor dog from Vacation.

Car Pool Log: 2006 07-11

Silver BMW (see Car Pool Log: 2006 05-26). I got into the car, front passenger seat, and was greeted by the music of Jimmy Buffett. The LCD screen in the dashboard was possibly broadcasting Sirius or XFM radio. During the car ride through the dismal and cold gray morning the radio played another Jimmy Buffett song on top of the one we already sat through, followed by Bob Marley and the Wailers. I had never been so happy to hear Bob Marley as I was this morning. I wondered if it would be rude to put my headphones on. Following Bob was Chuck Berry with “Little Sweet Sixteen”. I wondered if the cologne I had put on was too strong. Second Passenger asked Driver if he was turning left on Howard. He said he was, going down to 4th. Second Passenger asked if he could join him and Driver complied. I got out while the car was stopped at a red light on Fremont.

Car Pool Log: 2006 07-10

Black Mercedes-Benz SRS, black leather interiors, wood paneling. The dashboard had a colorful LCD screen telling us that we were listening to 88.5 FM, KQED. The interior of the car was exceptionally clean, void of any notable details that would construct a personality of the Driver. The radio was on loud. We heard about a manuscript found online that was called “The Management of Savagery”, a how-to guide for Al-Qaeda terrorists who are looking to take over crumbling nations and turn them into Islamic states. Driver informed us that he was going across Market and up California. Second Passenger asked to be dropped off closer to Mission and I told him that Howard and Fremont would be sufficient.
