Car Pool Log: 2006 05-18

Got a ride today from Edna again. In the back, behind the driver’s seat, was a large blue backpack with an “I *heart* You” lanyard and a three foot tall blooming orchid with purple and vanilla colored petals. Second Passenger was reading a book with, what looked like, Nostradamus on the cover. Another foggy ride over the East Bay Bridge. KQED on the radio, could faintly hear the pleading requests for their pledge drive.

Car Pool Log: 2006 05-17

Rode in with Ashley again. Cassette tapes on a shelf below the tape player, a pink aluminum foil yogurt top, dried yellow flower stuck in the vent. Second Passenger got in at Hudson. Foggy trip over the bridge. KQED on the radio: man on the radio feels humiliated and embarrassed when he doesn’t know the names of earthquakes because he is a recent transplant to the Bay Area. I didn’t know earthquakes had names. Thought it was pathetic that he cringes under social pressure, ignorant of superfluous labels. Second Passenger asked if we were going over Market Street. Thought how I would never ask a question like that, I would’ve been content with being dropped off anywhere I was let out. Second Passenger in a red plaid jacket and a muslin tote bag.

Car Pool Log: 2006 05-16

Rode in with Ashley again. Picked up Second Passenger on Hudson Street. Nothing of note this day. KQED on the radio. Got honked at for taking an illegal left-hand turn. Saw a dead cat on the road, gray skull squashed like rotten tomato, outside of Yuerba Buena.
