Car Pool Log: 2006 06-21

Black luxury car, beige interiors, wood paneling. A sunglass case in the front with “Malibu Girl” written on the front possibly; colorful rope, braided, hanging from the rearview mirror. Listened to KQED, an interview with President Bush’s Press Secretary. The front of the car seemed cramped, felt uncomfortable looking around, not much to note. I don’t like sitting in the front, too personal. Driver and Second Passenger were silent through out the ride.

Car Pool Log: 2006 06-20

Silver Volvo, dark vinyl interiors. Two well dressed men in the front. A girl waiting in car pooling line asked if they would be willing to take a third. The Driver and Third Passenger seemed to know each other. The Driver may have been the Second Passenger from 2006 06-14. Interior was covered in small scratches and course, wiry white hairs; possibly from a poodle or other small, white dog. Driver’s hand had small scratches as well, near the thumb and on the knuckles, perhaps from a cat. A newspaper tucked inbetween Driver’s seat and Front Passenger’s seat, a keychain in the shape of a Hawaiian shirt, palm trees and a road map made the pattern; car key and house key. KQED on the radio. Driver informed us he was going to Civic Center and Market. We both agreed to be dropped off at Howard. Driver had some leaf debris in his hair and Front Passenger removed it, smiling.

“If you need a ride home tonight, call me,” Driver said.

“What time are you getting off work?” Front Passenger asked.

“About seven.”

“I would be getting home before then.”

“Okay, well just pick up dinner before you get home.”

Car Pool Log: 2006 06-19

A SUV/Jeep vehicle, dark exterior, beige interior. Almost got in the backseat when I realized that there was a child there already in a car seat. I smiled at her, hoping I didn’t frighten the poor thing. Getting in, the Driver said hello and we were off. Red travel mug in the cup holder, Alice 97.3 on the radio. The Driver said that I was moments away from riding in a new BMW. I told him I’d had my fair share of BMW rides. The little girl in the back became chatty as we were nearing the toll.

“What kind of bus is that, Daddy?” she asked.

“A regular bus, sweetheart,” he said.

“What would happen is we drove up there on the bridge?” she asked.

“We would crash,” he answered.

“What are those lights for?” she asked.

“So people can drive on the bridge at night,” he replied.

“Did you know there are some children who go to school at the nighttime? The spiders go to school at night,” she said.

Driver dropped me off further away than normal, asking if it would be alright if he left me at Howard instead of Folsom. I wasn’t sure what he meant since we get let out at Howard anyway.
